Round-up giving for coffee shops.
A few cents a cup is nothing to any one customer and real money for your neighborhood by the end of the month.
How it works
Three steps, then it runs itself.
Connect your point of sale
Link your point of sale in a couple of clicks. No new hardware, and nothing changes about how you ring people up.
Pick how you give
Round up your sales to the next dollar, or offer a $1, $5, or $10 donation at the counter or in the cart.
Watch support add up
Your dashboard totals every donation. Once a month you get one statement and pay your charity directly.
Why it fits your counter
High-volume, low-ticket counters are what round-up was made for. A $4.35 latte rounds to $5, and across a week of cups the pennies outrun what a tip jar ever raised. Prefer the ask? Your baristas offer $1, $5, or $10 and the donation prints on the receipt.
The pledge asks nothing of your regulars and nothing of your staff. The register rings exactly the way it did yesterday; we watch the sales as they happen and keep the running total. Your part is the signage by the register - the card that says this shop rounds up for the shelter down the street - and the once-a-month payment you send yourself.
That sign earns its counter space. Coffee runs on regulars, and regulars notice what a shop stands for. Rounding up for the nonprofit your neighborhood already loves gives them one more reason to walk past the drive-through and come to you.
Common questions
Will this slow down my line?
No. On the round-up pledge nothing changes at checkout. On the cashier ask it is one question while the card is already out.
Do I need new hardware?
No. MakeTheDonation connects to the point of sale you already run.
How much does a coffee shop actually raise?
It scales with your volume. On the pledge every sale contributes its change, which averages out around fifty cents, so a hundred cups a week puts roughly fifty dollars a week on the statement. Your dashboard shows the real number every day.
Who gets the money?
The nonprofit you pick. You pay them directly each month - we never hold or move it.
Also for restaurants and faith communities.
